Job Summary
Draft patents, file, prosecute, and defend intellectual property for Life Science technologies including filtration, chromatography, and bioprocessing. Prepare legal opinions and advise R&D teams and cross-functional stakeholders globally on IP strategy, risk assessment, and business-aligned solutions. Manage patent portfolios to protect innovative products while supporting strategic decision-making across technical and commercial functions. Work directly with inventors to identify opportunities and develop practical defenses for meaningful innovations in healthcare and electronics.
Required Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in a relevant scientific or technical field, particularly engineering, biotechnology or a related discipline
- JD from an accredited law school
- Registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office
- Minimum of 3 years of patent law experience
- Fluency in English
- Location: Burlington, MA, USA; Remote to be considered
- Travel: <10%; International and Domestic

- Advanced degree and/or research and development experience
- Experience supporting technologies relevant to Life Science, such as engineering, filtration, chromatography, bioprocessing, chemistry, or biology
- Effective communicator
