LRT Track Installation Superintendent

Job Summary

Coordinate all production requirements for the Edmonton Valley Line West LRT track installation, ensuring full compliance with the Project Agreement, safety plans, and contractual milestones. Direct on-site work activities, manage crew hours and resource strategies, and attend daily prestart meetings to confirm tasks and deliverables. Interface with internal teams, subcontractors, and the design group to schedule adjacent works, interpret drawings, and facilitate solutions to inquiries. Maintain total quality performance standards, manage budgets and cost estimates, and execute work plans while fostering client confidence through field leadership and stakeholder communication. Physically monitor progress, address site issues, and complete daily reports in project control software.

Required Qualifications

  • Completed post-secondary degree or diploma in engineering, construction-related discipline, OR related trade designation and equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of track installation experience involving imbedded track
  • Minimum of 3 years proven heavy civil construction experience or similar public infrastructure projects
  • Experience with earthworks, removals, concrete and heavy machinery
  • Valid Class 5 license
  • Ability to negotiate the terrain of an in-process construction site, including climbing stairs and ladders, steep/ slippery terrain, walking, and working outdoors in all types of Edmonton weather and conditions

  • Flexibility to manage multiple project scopes simultaneously, meet the time demands of unpredictable activities
  • Effective and efficient problem solving and decision-making skills, thoughtful, proactive and creative
  • Demonstrated sense of urgency and strong commitment to achieving goals
