LRT Track Installation Superintendent

Job Summary
Coordinate all production requirements for the Edmonton Valley Line West LRT track installation, ensuring full compliance with the Project Agreement regarding quality, safety, environment, and life cycle performance. Manage interface coordination between internal teams, subcontractors, and adjacent segments to schedule enabling functions while overseeing cost controls, scheduling, and client communication. Direct on-site work activities in accordance with engineering plans, interpret drawings for field crews, and facilitate solutions with the design team. Lead daily prestart meetings with subcontractors, verify time sheets, and develop crew resource strategies to manage staffing peaks and valleys. Maintain effective stakeholder relationships, approve material and equipment needs, and ensure all safety deliverables including inspections and incident investigations are executed. Complete daily reports in project control software and maintain physical notes to track progress.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in construction-related field (or equivalent construction-related work experience)
- typically 8+ years of experience in field construction
- Minimum of 5 years of track installation experience involving imbedded track
- Minimum of 3 years proven heavy civil construction experience or similar public infrastructure projects
- Experience with earthworks, removals, concrete and heavy machinery
- Valid Class 5 license

- Experience in the construction of large civil/structural and/or industrial projects at domestic and/or foreign locations
- Ability to read and interpret contract specifications, drawings and other construction documents
- Proven leadership skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Demonstrated organizational skills within a multi-deadline multi-discipline project
- Computer proficiency including MS Office and SharePoint
- Ability to work in field or office as required, with a focus on field-oriented tasks
- Highly motivated, able to complete assignments with minimal direct supervision
- Knowledge of standard health, safety, and environmental requirements and practices in the construction industry
- Flexibility to manage multiple project scopes simultaneously, meet the time demands of unpredictable activities
