Job Summary
Conduct environmental sampling, calibrate field equipment, and support site inspections at mine, rail, or port facilities. Verify and enter data into computer systems, update spreadsheets, and prepare weekly solid waste management reports for the Mines and Yekepa areas. Monitor garbage collection, assist in waste management strategy implementation, and ensure sewage treatment plant operations. Respond to public inquiries, lead monthly environmental awareness sessions on waste management, and organize public environmental events. Collaborate with the AML workforce and other departments to support sustainability initiatives while maintaining health and safety compliance. Requires a valid driver's license, physical ability for field work, and potential shift work.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma / bachelor's degree in environmental science, Environmental Studies, or a related field
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent data entry and management skills
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to various sites as needed
- Physical ability to conduct field work and operate sampling equipment
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Field-based role requiring regular outdoor work at mine, rail, or port facilities
- Physical field duties such as walking, sampling, and inspections
- Possible shift work or extended hours depending on environmental conditions or incidents
