Job Summary
Provide professional nursing care for residents of all ages in long-term care under the supervision of a registered nurse or physician. Demonstrate competency in administering medications or treatments as ordered, performing testing to evaluate resident status, and recognizing problems to recommend solutions. Ensure the health, comfort, and safety of residents while documenting interactions, medication outcomes, behavior, activity, and dietary needs. Counsel residents, family members, and advocates on prevention and treatment plans under direction. Work effectively as a member of an interdisciplinary care team, maintaining confidentiality and establishing relationships with healthcare providers and the public. Available for PRN shifts including weekend and holiday rotations.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited practical nursing program as a Licensed Practical Nurse
- Associate degree in practical nursing
- Must have attended a pre-licensure nursing program that included supervised clinical experience across the life span as part of the curriculum
- Minimum of 400 hours of experience as LPN at another facility
- Currently holds an unencumbered Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license with State Nursing board
- Possess multi-state licensure privileges
- Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specific competencies and certifications
- Completes required annual continuing education units (CEU) and competency training requirements of the department and facility
- Must be available to work 6 shifts per month
- Must be available to work two weekend shifts
- Must be available to work holiday rotation
- Must pass a drug screen
- Must pass pre-employment background screening
Desired Qualifications
- Associate degree in practical nursing is preferred
