Job Summary
Provide professional nursing care for residents of all ages in long-term care under the supervision of a registered nurse, advanced practice provider, or physician. Administer medications or treatments as ordered, perform testing to evaluate resident status, and recognize problems to respond effectively in emergent situations. Ensure the health, comfort, and safety of residents while documenting interactions, medication outcomes, behavior, activity, and dietary needs. Counsel residents, family members, and advocates on prevention and treatment plans, and establish effective working relationships within the interdisciplinary care team. Work day shifts from 6:00am to 2:30pm, including every other weekend and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited practical nursing program as a Licensed Practical Nurse
- Associate degree in practical nursing
- Must have attended a pre-licensure nursing program that included supervised clinical experience across the life span as part of the curriculum
- Minimum of 400 hours of experience as LPN at another facility
- Currently holds an unencumbered Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license with State Nursing board
- Possess multi-state licensure privileges
- Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specific competencies and certifications
- Completes required annual continuing education units (CEU) and competency training requirements of the department and facility
- If position requires IV therapy/management skills, graduation from a Board approved AASPN program where IV therapy is part of the curriculum
- Completion of an IV Therapy course approved by the North Dakota Board of Nursing
- Must be able to work effectively with professional and supportive personnel as a member of an interdisciplinary care team
- Ability to communicate clearly
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
