Job Summary
LPN position reporting to the Nurse Manager in a substance-abuse treatment setting. Responsibilities include administering medications per policy, observing for intoxication and medication side effects, maintaining accurate medication accounting and client medical records, supporting care plans, and providing nursing care within the framework of casefinding, health teaching, health counseling, and restorative care under supervision of a registered nurse. Requires NYS LPN license, Infection Control certification, and at least one year of experience; strong communication skills and computer proficiency; participates in mandatory training, committees, and professional development. Includes a sign-on bonus.
Required Qualifications
- Current NYS LPN License
- Current NYS Infection Control Certificate
- Minimum one year experience as an LPN, preferably in a substance abuse treatment program
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to interact effectively with all populations served
- Ability to speak, read and write the English language
- Proficiency with computers
