Job Summary
LPN (Urology) – FT: The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) will support patient flow in a physician-owned hospital clinic, assist with efficient scheduling of surgical procedures in Urology and Gynecology, perform routine nursing procedures under practitioner supervision, stock and organize clinic spaces, prepare and maintain patient charts, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide compassionate patient care. Must have an active Vermont (or compact) LPN license, BLS, 6 months of clerical/customer-service experience, and proficiency with Microsoft Office; prior physician office experience and knowledge of HIPAA, EHRs, infection control, and basic surgical assistance are preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate from a practical nursing education program from an accredited institution
- Active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the State of Vermont or compact license
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers
- Six (6) months’ customer service/clerical experience, including computer operation
- Experience in a physician office (preferred)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Knowledge of clinical procedures, such as taking vital signs (temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration rate), collecting patient specimens (blood, urine, etc.) administering medications (under the supervision of a healthcare provider), and assisting with minor surgical procedures.
- Knowledge of office tasks, including scheduling appointments, maintaining patient records, managing electronic health records (EHRs), verifying insurance information, and handling billing and coding processes.
