LPN Triage Nurse

Triage patient calls to appropriate processes and act as a liaison between providers and patients, assuming the role of patient advocate. Manage incoming medical inquiries by notifying providers of problems, responding with their instructions, and identifying emergency situations for effective triage. Handle prescription refills, direct charts for scheduling, instruct patients on procedures, and communicate pathology, x-ray, and lab results under supervision. Maintain detailed, accurate documentation of all conversations and ensure strict confidentiality of patient and staff information. Demonstrate knowledge of OSHA, Code Blue, and fire safety measures while complying with established policies. Requires Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse status in Pennsylvania with minimum 5 years experience, strong telephone and computer skills, and ability to handle high-stress situations involving demanding patients or personnel in a gastroenterology office setting.
