Job Summary
Direct supervision of Resident Care Associates and management of community staffing, including monitoring emerging health needs and covering for resident care as needed. Evaluate resident needs and service plans per state regulations, discuss medical concerns with the ED, family, and MD, and administer medications with written physician orders. Promote the mission to residents, visitors, and professionals while growing community occupancy through positive interactions. Ensure compliance with infection control, review incident reports, and assist the Resident Care Director with documentation and on-call duties.
Required Qualifications
- Active member of the Resident Care Team
- Direct supervision of Resident Care Associates
- Understanding of patho-physiological and psychosocial changes associated with the aging process and disabilities
- Good physical and mental health
- Finger and hand dexterity to handle and manipulate instruments and equipment
- Visual and auditory acuity
- Ability to lift a minimum of fifteen (15) lbs.
- Ability to carry objects
- Ability to push and pull carts
- Ability to continuously walk, sit and stand
- Ability to turn, crouch, kneel, stoop, bend below waist, and reach above shoulder height
- Good body mechanics
- Neat and well groomed appearance
- Positive attitude towards the service provided
- Ability to communicate effectively in English both orally and in writing
- High school diploma
- Graduation from an accredited Nursing Program
- At least two years of experience in a geriatric setting
- Previous health experience in hospital and/or community setting
- Current RN or LPN License in the state you are employed
