Job Summary
Perform direct patient care under RN direction, including administering IV fluids and medications, venipuncture, inserting IV cannulas and foley catheters, wound dressing, and skin care. Conduct physical assessments, collect blood samples via fingersticks, perform Quick Cult tests, and round with physicians. Share responsibility for patient teams and direct staff in care activities. Requires Alabama licensure and successful completion of a Practical Nurse Program. Schedule includes PRN nights; on-call rotation applies.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited Practical Nurse Program
- current licensure by the Alabama State Board of Nursing
- demonstrates and maintains skills and knowledge pertinent to the practice and education of a Licensed Practical Nurse
- demonstrates competence of the care of the Acute Care patient
