LPN School Nurse Assistant

Job Summary
Assess and care for student illness and injuries, administer approved medications, and conduct daily state-mandated health screenings under Pennsylvania School Code and Belmont Charter Network policies. Provide first aid, document efforts, and triage immediate needs by connecting to the School-Based Health Center for urgent care with parent consent. Coordinate immunizations, schedule well-child care, and track annual physicals and dental check-ups while collaborating with parents to address social determinants of health. Ensure updated health records, promote SBHC enrollment, and request consents for medication administration. This 11-month role reports to the Certified School Nurse and school principal, requiring a current PA Practical Nurse license, one year of pediatrics experience, and proficiency in MS Office.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED
- Current PA license as Practical Nurse, diploma earned from an accredited institution
- At minimum one (1) year pediatrics experience post-certification
- Computer competency/proficiency in MS Office programs
- Familiarity with data entry systems
- Exemplary work habits, organizational skills and ability to prioritize
- Ability to work independently to complete responsibilities and also work as a team
- Strong interpersonal, communication and customer service skills
- Unconditional ability to maintain patient confidentiality
Desired Qualifications
- School nursing experience a plus
- Desire to work in a fast-paced environment and ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously
