Job Summary
Supervise daily nursing operations of the skilled nursing unit and coordinate resident admissions, transfers, and discharges. Assist the Director of Nursing and Assistant Director of Nursing with management of nursing services while ensuring staff comply with federal, state, and facility policies. Plan and lead staff meetings, organize work assignments, and complete required documentation including accident reports and chart audits. Participate in physician rounds and provide direct nursing care when necessary. Maintain current reference materials and verify that all staff follow individualized care plans. Complete an on-call rotation with three other nurse managers.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Nursing program or approved LPN/RN program
- Current, active, and unencumbered North Carolina LPN or RN license
- Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory experience in a hospital, long-term care, or related healthcare setting
- Thorough knowledge of nursing practices, long-term care regulations, and applicable federal and state guidelines
- Strong leadership, communication, and team-building skills
- Ability to make sound clinical decisions independently
- Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, physicians, staff, and regulatory agencies
- Professionalism, patience, compassion, and the ability to lead by example
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with PointClickCare is preferred
