Job Summary
Provide direct patient care by administering medications, performing wound care, and monitoring vital signs. Assist with patient care plans, conduct physical examinations, and document medical history and treatment plans accurately in electronic health records. Collaborate with physicians to ensure quality care, perform basic procedures like suture removal, and support patients and families with healthcare education. Coordinate complex case management for patients with multiple providers. Maintain accurate medical documentation and assign appropriate billing codes. Requires BLS certification and proficiency with Athenahealth.
Required Qualifications
- Proficient in using electronic health record systems, such as Athenahealth, to document patient information accurately
- Experience working in a hospital or similar healthcare setting, providing care to patients of various ages and medical conditions
- Knowledge of medical documentation standards and ability to maintain accurate and detailed records
- Familiarity with case management principles and ability to coordinate care for patients with multiple healthcare providers
- Understanding of occupational health practices and ability to assess and address work-related injuries or illnesses
- Competency in performing physical examinations, including assessing vital signs, conducting screenings, and documenting findings
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) for healthcare providers
- Familiarity with medical coding systems and ability to assign appropriate codes for billing purposes
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is a plus
