Job Summary
Conduct daily rounds on all resident units, perform chart reviews, and initiate or update care plans within 48 hours. Manage the skin and wound program by fixing documentation errors in the Module, monitoring dressing changes on the MAR, and ensuring weekly skin checks are completed. Coordinate specialized supplies, review daily lab and imaging results, and track narcotic/antipsychotic orders with informed consents. Assist with admissions, check nurse notebooks for returned faxes, and address resident complaints or out-of-range vital signs. Participate in staff meetings, training initiatives, and monthly QAPI meetings while attending state surveys as directed.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least eighteen [18] years of age
- Must be a Registered Nurse licensed to practice in Kansas
- BSN required
- Must have three years of responsible nursing experience
- Must be knowledgeable of State and Federal regulations for nursing homes
- Must have strong management and leadership skills
- Must have the ability to relate with different workplace populations
- Must be responsible, accountable and able to cope with diversity
- Must be able to exert 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally
- Must be able to exert 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently
- Must be able to exert greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly
Desired Qualifications
- Prefer one (1) year experience with wound care management
