Job Summary
Manage the Resident Care Department by overseeing clinical skills, assessing resident status, and developing individualized care and service plans. Direct daily assignments for Resident Care Assistants, conduct bi-monthly documentation audits, and facilitate weekly resident tracking meetings. Coordinate care with community providers, measure vital signs, and ensure compliance with state regulations while reporting incidents and significant behavioral changes to leadership. Participate in hiring, scheduling, and training processes for staff.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an approved L.P.N. program (per state requirements)
- Has a valid, unrestricted nursing license
- Minimum 1 to 2 years of experience working as a nurse
- Possesses current CPR, First Aid, and Heimlich certification, if required
- Demonstrates good supervision and management skills & behaviors
- Understands and can develop Resident Care Service Plan
- Understands advanced directives and end-of-life care
- Possesses knowledge about the assisted living philosophy
- Understands nursing function in assisted living
- Understands quality of care/life objectives
- Demonstrates working knowledge of state regulations
- Possess knowledge of policies in the resident handbook
- Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to relate in a positive and professional way to a diverse resident and employee population
- Ability to be flexible and work in an environment that promotes teamwork and collaboration
- Ability to maintain highest level of confidentiality regarding residents, staff and the Community
- Demonstrated ability to set priorities, complete assignments in a timely manner while managing multiple duties and responsibilities
- Demonstrate proficiency in documenting in an resident electronic health record (EHR)
- Proficient using MS office
- Proficient in using state audit compliance tool
- Possesses knowledge about the assisted living philosophy

Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience working with the elderly in a paid or volunteer position highly desirable
