Job Summary
Assess residents, collect health status and medical history, and document ongoing care plans based on physiological, psychosocial, and environmental factors. Administer medications, IVs, and treatments while observing resident responses and ensuring proper drug disposal. Collaborate with physicians and nursing staff to address needs, handle emergency situations promptly, and maintain adequate supplies. Report medication and equipment shortages to the Director of Nursing. Requires current LPN registration, Board of Nursing IV Therapy course completion, and ability to lift 50 pounds. Full-time role involves weekends, weekdays, on-call, day shifts, and 12-hour rotations.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing
- Current, unencumbered registration as a LPN issued by the State
- Must be able to push, pull, move and/or lift a minimum of 50 pounds
- Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time
- Must be able to reach, stoop, kneel, bend, lift and move intermittently throughout the workday throughout the facility
- Must be able to work outside of normal work hours including nights, holidays, and weekends as needed to meet facility and position demands
- Must be free of diseases that may be transmitted in the performance of job responsibilities during the stage of communicability
- Must be able to relate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset and at times hostile people within the facility
Desired Qualifications
- Completion of Board of Nursing I.V. Therapy course preferred
- 1-5 years of experience as a LPN in a Long Term Care Facility is preferred
