Job Summary
Supervise and administer medications to assigned residents while monitoring monthly self-medication programs. Monitor personal care provided by Resident Assistants and assist with direct care as necessary. Report changes in condition, daily needs, and resident progress to the Director of Nursing. Maintain documentation in Case Notes and Medication Administration Records. Manage controlled substance medications, ensuring proper storage and distribution in the facility. Follow individual resident plans of care and ensure care standards are maintained. Assist in problem-solving regarding staffing, supplies, and resident care during shifts. Receive and store lost or found articles, notifying the Director of Nursing or Case Manager.
Required Qualifications
- Credentials as a Licensed Practical Nurse with a current State license
- Organizational skills and ability to supervise department staff effectively and work well with personnel of other departments
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language at an intermediate or more advanced level
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in geriatric nursing
