Job Summary
Provide basic nursing care by assisting in resident assessments on admission and ongoing, accurately documenting findings and communicating significant changes to the interdisciplinary team. Implement nursing interventions including medication administration and treatments per physician and nursing orders, ensuring safety and timeliness. Monitor residents closely to identify behavioral changes or untoward symptoms, answering call lights and assisting with ADLs as needed. Use critical thinking to address problem areas via the QAPI process and notify physicians using SBARR during crises. Maintain composure during family dissatisfaction or staff disputes, adhering to Bethesda policies and completing twelve hours of nursing continuing education.
Required Qualifications
- Education from an accredited school of nursing that results in becoming a Licensed Practical Nurse
- Current license in the state you will be working as a Licensed Practical Nurse
- IV Certification required or willing to obtain within six months of employment
- Current CPR/AED Certification required or willing to obtain within six months of employment
- Must be able to assess the basic nursing care needs of the geriatric resident
- Must possess excellent communication skills to interact with residents, visitors and staff
- Excellent time management and organizational skills are required
- Must possess critical thinking skills
Desired Qualifications
- Long-term care/Rehab/Assisted Living experience preferred
