Job Summary
Provide basic nursing care by assisting in resident assessments on admission and ongoing, accurately documenting findings and communicating significant changes to the interdisciplinary team. Implement nursing interventions relevant to the care plan, including medication administration and treatments, while ensuring safety and timeliness. Monitor residents closely to identify behavioral changes or untoward symptoms, answer call lights, and assist with activities of daily living as needed. Use critical thinking skills to address problem areas through the QAPI process and notify physicians timely using SBARR communication. Maintain composure during crises and complete at least twelve hours of nursing-related continuing education annually.
Required Qualifications
- Education from an accredited school of nursing that results in becoming a Licensed Practical Nurse
- Current license in the state you will be working as a Licensed Practical Nurse
- IV Certification required or willing to obtain within six months of employment
- Current CPR/AED Certification required or willing to obtain within six months of employment
- Must be able to assess the basic nursing care needs of the geriatric resident
- Must possess excellent communication skills to interact with residents, visitors and staff
- Excellent time management and organizational skills are required
- Must possess critical thinking skills
Desired Qualifications
- Long-term care/Rehab/Assisted Living experience preferred
