Job Summary
Assess resident conditions on admission and ongoing, communicating significant changes to the interdisciplinary team. Document all assessments and interventions accurately, including medication administration and treatments, while implementing the care plan. Administer IV fluids only if certified, monitor residents for behavioral changes, and address problem areas using the QAPI process. Answer call lights, assist with activities of daily living, and notify physicians using the SBARR tool during crises. Maintain composure in family disputes or staff conflicts, complete twelve hours of nursing continuing education, and adhere to Bethesda policies.
Required Qualifications
- Education from an accredited school of nursing that results in becoming a Licensed Practical Nurse
- Current license in the state you will be working as a Licensed Practical Nurse
- IV Certification required or willing to obtain within six months of employment
- Current CPR/AED Certification required or willing to obtain within six months of employment
- Must be able to assess the basic nursing care needs of the geriatric resident
- Must possess excellent communication skills to interact with residents, visitors and staff
- Excellent time management and organizational skills are required
- Must possess critical thinking skills
Desired Qualifications
- Long-term care/Rehab/Assisted Living experience preferred
