Job Summary
Provides basic nursing care to geriatric residents in a long-term care/rehab setting, including assessment upon admission and ongoing monitoring, care planning, and documenting assessments. Delivers interventions and medications safely, administers IV fluids if IV certified, communicates with the interdisciplinary team and families, uses SBARR for timely physician notification, and participates in QA/QAPI processes. Maintains composure during crises, assists with ADLs, and pursues continuing education. May be assigned other duties as appropriate.
Required Qualifications
- Education from an accredited school of nursing that results in becoming a Licensed Practical Nurse
- Current license in the state you will be working as a Licensed Practical Nurse
- IV Certification required or willing to obtain within six months of employment
- Current CPR/AED Certification required or willing to obtain within six months of employment
- Long-term care/Rehab/Assisted Living experience preferred
- Must possess excellent communication skills
- Must possess critical thinking skills
- Must be able to assess the basic nursing care needs of the geriatric resident
