Job Summary
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care for adult and geriatric patients across multiple Mercy hospital facilities in the St. Louis region. Float between designated Community Mercy locations including Cape Girardeau, Festus, South St. Louis County, Washington, Troy, Perryville, Dexter, and St. Louis. Provide bedside care in diverse units such as Orthopedics, Med/Surg, ICU, Neurology, and Emergency Department. Maintain a current LPN license and hold required certifications like BLS, ACLS, or PALS depending on specialty. Perform patient lifting and turning with assistance. Work nights as a full-time role with shift differentials and a sign-on bonus.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program
- Current LPN license within the hiring state
- Meeting all State Board of Nursing requirements
- One year of recent bed-side LPN experience to work Med Surg
- Two years of recent bed-side LPN experience for all other specialties (ED, ICU, etc.)
- BLS certification for Med Surg
- BLS and ACLS certifications for Critical Care
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications for Emergency Department
- IV certification
- Ability to stand and walk most of the time on duty
- Ability to perform significant bending and stooping
- Ability to lift and turn patients with assistance
- Ability to push, pull, and grip up to 50 pounds
- Availability for nights shift
- Willingness to float between designated Community Mercy Hospital facilities
- Willingness to work at Mercy St. Louis, Mercy Jefferson, Mercy South, Mercy Washington, Mercy Lincoln, Mercy Perry, Mercy Southeast, or Mercy Stoddard facilities
- Willingness to work in Orthopedics, Med/Surg, Medical Telemetry, Neuro Stepdown, Medical Stepdown, Surgical Stepdown, Cardiac Telemetry, Cardiac Vascular Intensive Care, Oncology, Neurology, Emergency Department, or Behavioral Health units
