Job Summary
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care for adult and geriatric patients across multiple Mercy facilities in the St. Louis region, including Orthopedics, Med/Surg, ICU, and Emergency Department units. Float between designated Community Mercy Hospital locations such as Mercy South, Mercy Jefferson, and Mercy St. Louis. Maintain a current LPN license and hold required certifications like BLS, ACLS, and PALS depending on specialty. Work nights with significant patient lifting and turning duties. Earn shift differentials of $2.75 for evenings and $3.75 for nights, plus a $2,000 sign-on bonus.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program
- Current LPN license within the hiring state
- Meeting all State Board of Nursing requirements
- One year of recent bed-side LPN experience to work Med Surg
- Two years of recent bed-side LPN experience for all other specialties (ED, ICU, etc.)
- BLS certification for Med Surg
- BLS and ACLS certifications for Critical Care
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications for Emergency Department
- IV certification
- Ability to stand and walk most of the time on duty
- Ability to perform significant bending and stooping
- Ability to lift and turn patients with assistance
- Ability to push, pull, and grip up to 50 pounds
- Availability for nights shift
- Willingness to float between designated Community Mercy Hospital facilities
