Job Summary
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care for adult and geriatric patients across multiple Mercy facilities in the St. Louis region. Float between designated Community Mercy Hospital units including Orthopedics, Med/Surg, ICU, and Emergency Department. Maintain a current LPN license and hold required certifications such as BLS, ACLS, and PALS depending on specialty. Work nights in a full-time role requiring standing, walking, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program
- Current LPN license within the hiring state meeting all State Board of Nursing requirements
- One year of recent bed-side LPN experience to work Med Surg
- Two years of recent bed-side LPN experience for specialties other than Med Surg (ED, ICU, etc.)
- BLS certification for Med Surg
- BLS and ACLS certifications for Critical Care
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications for Emergency Department
- IV certification
- Ability to stand and walk most of the time on duty
- Ability to perform significant bending, stooping, lifting, and turning patients with assistance
- Ability to push, pull, and grip up to 50 pounds
- Availability for nights shift
- Willingness to float between designated Community Mercy Hospital facilities
- Willingness to work at Mercy St. Louis, Mercy Jefferson, Mercy South, Mercy Washington, Mercy Lincoln, Mercy Perry, Mercy Southeast, or Mercy Stoddard facilities
- Willingness to work in Orthopedics, Med/Surg, Medical Telemetry, Neuro Stepdown, Medical Stepdown, Surgical Stepdown, Cardiac Telemetry, Cardiac Vascular Intensive Care, Oncology, Neurology, Emergency Department, Behavioral Health, or ICU units
