Job Summary
LPN provides professional nursing care for residents in long term care under the supervision of a registered nurse, advanced practice provider, or physician. Demonstrates knowledge of nursing principles and applies age/population appropriate standards. Performs testing to evaluate resident status, administers medications or treatments as ordered, documents interactions and outcomes, and collaborates with an interdisciplinary care team. Maintains confidentiality, communicates clearly, counsels residents and families on prevention and treatment plans, and supports care plans with self-care education. Requires graduation from an accredited practical nursing program and an active LPN license; IV therapy requirements may apply in North Dakota (AASPN or approved IV course). PRN overnight shifts (10:30pm–6:30am) with flexible pick-up opportunities; long term care setting.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited practical nursing program as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
- Associate degree in practical nursing is preferred.
- Currently holds an unencumbered Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license with State Nursing board and/or possess multi-state licensure privileges.
- Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specific competencies and certifications.
- Completes required annual continuing education units (CEU) and competency training requirements of the department and facility.
