Job Summary
Provide professional nursing care to residents in a long-term care setting as an LPN on PRN overnight shifts. Responsibilities include administering medications and treatments as ordered, documenting resident interactions and outcomes, participating in an interdisciplinary care team, and supporting residents’ self-care plans. The role requires assessing residents, recognizing problems, and responding to emergent situations within the full scope of LPN practice. Must maintain confidentiality, communicate effectively with residents, families, and health-care providers, and comply with licensure and facility competency requirements. Shift is overnight from 10:30pm to 6:30am; PRN scheduling allows picking up shifts that fit coverage needs.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited practical nursing program as a Licensed Practical Nurse
- Associate degree in practical nursing is preferred
- If position requires IV therapy/management skills, graduation from a Board approved AASPN program where IV therapy is part of the curriculum or completion of an IV Therapy course approved by the North Dakota Board of Nursing
- Must have attended a pre-licensure nursing program that included supervised clinical experience across the life span or have had a minimum of 400 hours of experience as LPN at another facility
- Currently holds an unencumbered Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license with State Nursing board and/or possess multi-state licensure privileges
- Obtains and maintains required department specific competencies and certifications; completes required annual continuing education units (CEU) and competency training requirements
