Job Summary
LPN - PRN Open Availability (as needed) provides direct and indirect nursing care to residents in a long-term care setting. The LPN coordinates with the healthcare team to deliver quality care, conducts resident assessments, contributes to care planning and evaluation, and supervises nursing assistants. Responsibilities include supervising nursing staff, serving as charge nurse in the absence of an RN, ensuring compliance with professional nursing standards and state/federal regulations, administering medications, documenting nursing notes, coordinating resident admissions/transfers/discharges, and communicating resident status to the interdisciplinary team. The role emphasizes leadership, delegation, effective communication, patient safety, and contributions to resident quality of life. Must be licensed in Louisiana, CPR certified, and have at least one year of relevant experience; prior long-term care and dementia care experience are a plus.
Required Qualifications
- Successful completion and graduation from an accredited school of Licensed Practical Nursing
- Must possess a current, unencumbered license to practice Licensed Practical Nursing in Louisiana
- Must possess a current certification for Health Care Provider CPR
- Has at least one year of experience
