Job Summary
Provide professional nursing care for residents of all ages in long-term care under the supervision of a registered nurse or physician. Administer medications or treatments as ordered, conduct assessments, and perform testing to evaluate resident status. Ensure the health, comfort, and safety of residents while documenting interactions, medication outcomes, and behavioral changes. Counsel residents, family members, and advocates on prevention and treatment plans under direction. Work a 12-hour night shift with varying weekly hours and differentials. Maintain an unencumbered LPN license and complete required annual continuing education and competency training.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited practical nursing program as a Licensed Practical Nurse
- Associate degree in practical nursing
- Must have attended a pre-licensure nursing program that included supervised clinical experience across the life span as part of the curriculum
- Minimum of 400 hours of experience as LPN at another facility
- Currently holds an unencumbered Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license with State Nursing board
- Possess multi-state licensure privileges
- Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specific competencies and certifications
- Completes required annual continuing education units (CEU) and competency training requirements of the department and facility
- Accept an accepted offer will require a drug screen and pre-employment background screening as a condition of employment
Desired Qualifications
- Associate degree in practical nursing is preferred
