Job Summary
Provide professional nursing care for residents of all ages in long-term care under the supervision of a registered nurse or physician. Administer medications or treatments as ordered, perform testing to evaluate resident status, and recognize problems to respond effectively in emergent situations. Ensure the health, comfort, and safety of residents while documenting interactions, medication outcomes, and dietary needs. Counsel residents and family members on prevention and treatment plans, and establish effective working relationships within the interdisciplinary care team. Work a PRN schedule with varying weekly hours, including one weekend and one weekday shift per month, earning $26.00 to $36.00 plus night and weekend differentials.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited practical nursing program as a Licensed Practical Nurse
- Associate degree in practical nursing
- Must have attended a pre-licensure nursing program that included supervised clinical experience across the life span as part of the curriculum
- Minimum of 400 hours of experience as LPN at another facility
- Currently holds an unencumbered Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license with State Nursing board
- Possess multi-state licensure privileges
- Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specific competencies and certifications
- Completes required annual continuing education units (CEU) and competency training requirements of the department and facility
