Supervise certified nursing assistants and answer patient calls to determine assistance needs. Administer prescribed medications per physician orders and document administration on resident charts. Observe and assess residents, charting changes in conditions and reporting adverse reactions or errors to the physician or registered nurse. Provide basic care including vital signs, blood gases, dressing changes, oxygen administration, lab specimens, and IV maintenance. Measure and record vital signs, maintain cleanliness of supply rooms, and inventory instruments. Conduct physical exams, determine tentative diagnoses, and facilitate hospital transfers or triage. Complete all Medicare documentation, coordinate admissions and discharges, and review departmental records to correct errors. Comply with infection control programs and advise personnel on necessary precautions.
