Job Summary

Provide basic medical services to patients in an outpatient addiction recovery environment while maintaining standards of professional nursing practice and safe medication delivery. Educate patients on medications and side effects, administer drugs like Methadone and Suboxone, and conduct urine drug screens. Perform evaluations for new intakes, quarterly checks, and possible impairment, while interpreting Mantoux tests and monitoring patient responses to treatment. Counsel patients on hygiene, lab results, and HIV/AIDS testing, and document nursing progress notes and medical records thoroughly. Order medical supplies, manage inventory, coordinate physician appointments, and assist with patient transfers. Respond appropriately to emergency situations, including managing opiate overdoses, and participate in case conferences and team meetings.

Required Qualifications

  • Licensed Practical Nurse licensed in accordance with the laws in the state of employment
  • Graduation from an accredited nursing school
  • Knowledge and experience with regulations and standards including infection control, quality assurance, and patient care compliance for state licensure
  • CPR (Cardiopulmonary resuscitation) first aid and BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • Experience triaging in emergency situations, assisting with medical emergencies

Desired Qualifications

  • Two (2) years' experience with chemical addiction and/or mental disorders including psych pharmacotherapy
