Job Summary
Document all patient care, collect vital signs and history, and prepare patients for surgical procedures, tests, and treatments. Assist healthcare providers in evaluating patient needs and completing JCAHO data elements regarding domestic violence and pain. Assess risk factors related to age, size, and medications while recognizing care problems and reacting appropriately to emergencies. Maintain infection control standards and communicate effectively with personnel, patients, and medical providers. This role supports the Physician Practice team in Glens Falls, New York, focusing on outpatient care for well patients and those with health problems.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from a Licensed Practical Nursing Program
- Current license and registration to practice Practical Nursing in New York State
- Infection Control
- Ability to complete basic mathematical calculations and complete tasks in efficient/timely manner
- Ability to provide required nursing care under the direction of the medical provider
- Ability to communicate/work effectively, verbally and in writing with personnel, patients, and medical providers
- Ability to recognize patient care problems and to react appropriately in patient care emergencies utilizing nursing resources
- Responsibility for nursing self-development and keeping current with advances in nursing knowledge and techniques
Desired Qualifications
- BLS Certification (can be obtained at time of hire)
