Job Summary
Conduct pediatric patient care in urgent care settings by obtaining medical histories, vital signs, and intake while performing procedures such as venipuncture, IV insertion, and medication administration. Assist physicians with positioning, comfort, and emergency responses, maintaining stocked exam rooms and sterilization tools. Perform monthly quality control checks in the office and lab, ensuring strict adherence to safety, HIPAA, and legal regulations. Support urgent care flow efficiency by tracking metrics from arrival to discharge. Requires active state nursing license, BLS certification, and pediatric experience.
Required Qualifications
- Pediatric experience
- Pediatric ER, Pediatric hospital unit, or Pediatrics Urgent Care Experience
- Active state nursing license or active compact state licensure from the state you reside
- Prior experience and competency with nursing procedures (not limited to IV placement, urinary straight catheterization, and medication administration)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Knowledge of medical practice and terminology, clinic's processes, and procedures
- Knowledge of medical equipment and instruments
- Skill in rapid assessment of the critical presentation of the pediatric population
- Ability to use sound reasoning and judgment and act calm in emergencies
- Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and nonverbally
