Job Summary
Conduct pediatric patient care under physician supervision, including obtaining histories, monitoring vital signs, and administering medications via oral, rectal, IM, and IV routes. Perform procedures such as venipuncture, IV insertion, and urinary straight catheterization while maintaining exam rooms with adequate supplies and sterilization tools. Assist with patient positioning during x-rays, respond to emergencies, and perform monthly quality control checks in the office and lab. Support urgent care flow by tracking efficiency metrics and maintain HIPAA compliance and safety standards. Requires active state nursing license, BLS certification, and pediatric experience.
Required Qualifications
- Pediatric experience
- Pediatric ER, Pediatric hospital unit, or Pediatrics Urgent Care Experience
- Active state nursing license or active compact state licensure from the state you reside
- Prior experience and competency with nursing procedures (not limited to IV placement, urinary straight catheterization, and medication administration)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Knowledge of medical practice and terminology, clinic's processes, and procedures
- Knowledge of medical equipment and instruments
- Skill in rapid assessment of the critical presentation of the pediatric population
- Ability to use sound reasoning and judgment and act calm in emergencies
- Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and nonverbally
