Job Summary
Provide direct nursing care to residents and supervise day-to-day nursing activities performed by nursing assistants in accordance with federal, state, and local standards. Direct the functions of nursing assistants, ensure compliance with facility policies, and make written and oral reports on shift activities. Administer medications as ordered, verify resident identity, and maintain accurate narcotic records. Perform routine charting duties, complete accident/incident reports, and update resident discharge plans. Monitor seriously ill residents, check dietary allowances, and ensure treatment areas remain clean and safe. Participate in facility surveys, infection control programs, and staff development through in-service training classes.
Required Qualifications
- Nursing degree from an accredited college or university
- Active, unencumbered South Carolina LPN license
