Job Summary
Perform patient assessments, administer medications and injections, and prepare patients for provider evaluations in a urology clinic. Collect and process specimens, document treatment updates in electronic medical records, and provide patient education on medications and follow-up care. Assist with referral authorizations, maintain clean exam and lab areas, and support telehealth services including tele-retinal and tele-dermatology setup. Adhere to infection control standards and ensure proper specimen disposal. Requires current Virginia LPN licensure, AHA BLS-HCP certification, and proficiency with EHR systems. Full-time day shift at Carilion Clinic in Christiansburg, VA.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of practical nursing
- New graduate of an approved program eligible to sit for the Virginia licensure exam
- Current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the Commonwealth of Virginia
- Limited Radiologic Technician license
- Current AHA BLS-HCP certification
- Strong customer service orientation
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to problem solve and communicate effectively with a wide range of individuals
- Proficiency with electronic medical records and computer systems
