Job Summary
Provide basic nursing care to clinic patients following established standards and practices, including checking schedules, organizing patient flow, and escorting patients to exam or procedure rooms. Administer prescribed medications and treatments while collecting patient history, specimens, and vital signs. Document all interventions, phone calls, and responses in the medical record or EMR, and act as a communication liaison between patients and providers. Prepare equipment and aid during treatments, examinations, and testing as needed. Fulfill clerical responsibilities such as filing medical records, scheduling appointments, and completing physician referrals. Maintain knowledge of equipment operation and infection control safety guidelines.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of High School or GED
- Licensed as Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of Florida
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association
- Verified ability to take accurate patient vital signs
- Knowledge of CPT and ICD9 codes
- Knowledge of basic and specialty medical terminology
- Intermediate computer knowledge: Uses Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Windows
Desired Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in health care facility or private physician office
