Job Summary
Provide patient care in the Orthopedics unit under the supervision of a Registered Professional Nurse (RN) or licensed prescriber. Utilize the nursing process to deliver assigned care while maintaining professional accountability and coordinating with other departments. Ensure patient rights and confidentiality of information are upheld throughout the shift. Full-time, 36-hour days shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) at Mercy Hospital South. Requires current Missouri LPN license, BLS certification, and LPN-IV certification. Physical demands include frequent standing, lifting up to 50 lbs, and patient turning. Sign-on bonus up to $2,000 available.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program
- Current LPN license in Missouri
- Meet all State Board of Nursing requirements
- Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association
- LPN-IV Certification
- Ability to push, pull, and grip up to 50 lbs
- Frequent standing and walking throughout shift
- Significant bending, stooping, and patient lifting/turning with assistance
