Job Summary
Provide patient care in the Orthopedics unit under the supervision of a Registered Professional Nurse (RN) or licensed prescriber. Utilize the nursing process to deliver assigned care while maintaining professional accountability for all patients. Coordinate care with other departments and uphold patient rights and confidentiality. Perform duties consistent with Mercy Service Standards. Requires current Missouri LPN license, BLS certification, and IV certification. Schedule is full-time, 36 hours per week, days shift from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM. Physical demands include frequent standing, lifting up to 50 lbs, and patient turning.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program
- Current LPN license in Missouri
- Meeting all State Board of Nursing requirements
- Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association
- LPN-IV Certification
- Ability to push, pull, and grip up to 50 lbs
- Frequent standing and walking throughout shift
- Significant bending, stooping, and patient lifting/turning with assistance
