Job Summary
Provide patient care in the orthopedics unit using the nursing process under the supervision of a licensed provider or Registered Professional Nurse. Maintain professional accountability for assigned patients, coordinate care with other departments, and uphold patient rights and confidentiality. Perform duties consistent with Mercy Service Standards while obtaining Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of hire. LPN-IV certification is required prior to hire or within three months. This full-time, 36-hour day shift role (7:00 PM to 7:00 AM) is located at Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis, Missouri.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program
- Current LPN license in Missouri
- Meeting all State Board of Nursing requirements
- Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association
- LPN-IV Certification
- Ability to push, pull, and grip up to 50 lbs
- Frequent standing and walking throughout shift
- Significant bending, stooping, and patient lifting/turning with assistance
