Job Summary
Utilize the nursing process to provide patient care under the supervision of a licensed provider or Registered Professional Nurse (RN) for assigned patients in the orthopedics unit. Maintain professional accountability for patient care, coordinate care with other departments, and uphold patient rights and confidentiality of information. Complete required certifications including Basic Life Support (BLS) and LPN-IV Certification within specified timelines. Work full-time days shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM at Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis, Missouri.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program
- Current LPN license in Missouri
- Meet all State Board of Nursing requirements
- Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association
- LPN-IV Certification
- Ability to push, pull, and grip up to 50 lbs
- Frequent standing and walking throughout shift
- Significant bending, stooping, and patient lifting/turning with assistance
