Job Summary
LPN on NT4 Ortho-Urology Surgical Unit (Inpatient) provides bedside nursing for acute ortho and urology surgical patients on a 41-bed unit. Responsibilities include medication administration (including IV piggyback fluids), charting assessments and care plans after RN assessment, coordinating with physicians/APPs, caring for trach and NG tube, ostomy care, wound care (Wound Vacs, JP drains), and patient education at discharge. Unit operates with high collaboration with physical and occupational therapists, with a typical 1:4-6 nurse-to-patient ratio and max three-day length of stay; roles support a team-based approach under supervision of RNs, nurse supervisors, educators, and management. Required Qualifications
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
- Illinois IDFPR license
- Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days - American Heart Association
- College Diploma: Licensed Practical Nurse (Required)
- Experience with inpatient ortho/trauma unit desirable
