Job Summary

Triage patients by phone or in person, receive and implement physician orders, and coordinate patient care for clinic and procedures. Perform CLIA waived lab tests, obtain specimens, run controls, and conduct proficiency testing, while assisting providers with venipuncture and vital stats collection. Escort patients to exam rooms, prepare them for examinations, and manage appointment scheduling, data entry, and payment collection. Work full-time days under the direction of a provider, with schedules available Monday through Friday or Tuesday through Friday.

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate of a practical or vocational nursing program
  • High school or Equivalent
  • Current, valid Arizona LPN license or compact state LPN/LVN license
  • American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS certification
  • High School or Equivalent
  • American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS certification
  • DPS Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card
  • Has attended a medical assistant training program accredited by one of the following: The Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs or The Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools
  • Has completed a medical services training program of the Armed Forces of the United States
  • Must be able to distinguish appropriate colors
  • Communicate using telephone
  • Able to consistently reach and/or work above and below shoulder level lifting up to 50 pounds
  • Capable of walking or being on feet 90% of time per day with frequent bending, squatting, kneeling, standing and sitting at desk 10% of time per day
  • Must meet one of the following criteria: Has attended a medical assistant training program accredited by one of the following: The Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs or The Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools; If your Medical Assistant program was not accredited by one of the above agencies, you will need to have a Medical Assistant Certification issued by one of the following.
