Job Summary
Properly prepare examination and treatment areas, complete patient rooming procedures including vital signs and data collection, and accurately administer and document unit dose medications and immunizations. Perform EKGs and laboratory testing per CLIA license, ensure accurate patient record documentation, and complete assigned clerical activities and supply maintenance. Assist with scheduling follow-up care, distribute patient education materials, and direct patient questions to providers or registered nurses. Starting pay ranges from $20.45 to $28.73 per hour, with up to $5,000 or $10,000 sign-on bonuses for qualified Medical Assistants or LPNs, respectively. This role offers 40 weekly hours in the ambulatory clinic setting at Monument Health's 10th St. Primary Care location in Spearfish, SD.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED Equivalent in General Studies
- Graduate of an Accredited Medical Assistant University or accredited training facility
- Medical Assistant-Certified (MA) by one of the listed certifying bodies
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Professional Certification - American Heart Association (AHA)
- American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) certification
- American Medical Technologists (AMT) certification
- National Healthcareer Association (NHA) certification
- National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) certification
- American Medical Certification Association (AMCA) certification
- Ability to work assigned schedules and hours as determined by the department
Desired Qualifications
- Completion of a nursing education program that is approved by a board of nursing
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - South Dakota Board of Nursing
- 1+ years of Clinical Experience
- 1+ years of Healthcare Experience
