Job Summary
Provide comfort-focused, patient-centered care to individuals and families during end-of-life stages at Luverne Cottage Hospice. Work closely with an interdisciplinary team to support symptom management, emotional comfort, and dignity for every patient. Administer a variety of treatments and medications as directed while ensuring the health, comfort, and safety of residents in the home care setting. Perform testing to assess data reflective of patient status and interpret information needed to identify age-specific requirements. Maintain a maximum patient ratio of 1:4. This role offers self-scheduling flexibility for Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) or Med Aides (MA) and is available on a PRN basis.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited practical nursing program as a Licensed Practical Nurse
- Currently holds an unencumbered Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license with State Nursing board and/or possess multi-state licensure privileges
- Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specific competencies and certifications
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for health care providers required
- Valid drivers license may be required
- An accepted offer will require a drug screen and pre-employment background screening as a condition of employment
Desired Qualifications
- One year of professional nursing experience preferred
- If position requires IV therapy/management skills, graduation from a Board approved AASPN program where IV therapy is part of the curriculum or completion of an IV Therapy course approved by the North Dakota Board of Nursing
