Job Summary

Assess and manage patient total needs following physician orders with RN oversight, performing routine nursing procedures and administering medications within defined scope. Coordinate care and services with RN and team members, collaborating to develop and revise individual plans of care while informing supervisors of condition changes. Provide relationship-based, culturally sensitive patient-centered care, serving as patient educator to foster self-care and utilizing teach-back methods to ensure understanding. Accurately complete required documentation, check voice mail and work email daily, and delegate tasks to unlicensed staff as appropriate. Participate in orientation of new employees and nursing students, attend continuing education, and serve as a preceptor for newly hired LPN colleagues. Float between Cobb Hospital HOD's based on need, with local travel required.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma General or GED General or Other / Certificate Nursing
  • LPN - Lic Practical Nurse
  • BLS - Basic Life Support or ARC-BLS - Amer Red Cross Basic Life Support or BLS-I - Basic Life Support - Instructor
  • Previous healthcare experience
  • Experience in oncology, ambulatory, outpatient setting
  • Positive leadership

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Computer skills
  • reliable transportation
  • a valid Georgia drivers license
  • scheduling flexibility
  • Monday through Thursday, 8:00 AM-4:30 PM, and Friday, 8:00 AM-3:00 PM
  • Local travel required
  • Float staff will be required to float between Cobb Hospital HOD's based on need

Desired Qualifications

  • All certifications are required upon hire unless otherwise stated
  • Demonstrates knowledge and skill in accessing & de-accessing ports including flushing the line and sterile technique
  • Demonstrates knowledge and skill in medication administration as defined within scope for WHS
  • Accepts responsibility to remain current in clinical knowledge for the care of the oncology patient
  • Participates in the orientation and education of new employees and nursing students
