Job Summary
Direct care (including IV therapy) of assigned patients within the framework of the Licensed Practical Nurse Act under the direction of a registered nurse. Directs and assists ancillary nursing staff with assigned duties and interacts with the multidisciplinary team to provide personalized patient care. Effectively uses the nursing process through data gathering, planning, and evaluation while adapting to rapid changes in department needs. Maintains required clinical knowledge, technical skills, and credentials to ensure high-quality care. Requires a current LPN license, BLS certification, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Current licensed practical nursing (LPN) license in state of practice
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification from the American Heart Association
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Self directed
- Good judgement
- Good interpersonal and delegation skills
- Ability to work with and maintain confidential information
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
- Knowledge of the nursing process
- Ability to gather data
- Ability to plan
- Ability to evaluate
- Knowledge of physical, psycho/social, educational, safety and related criteria
- Ability to adapt to rapid change in a positive manner

- Ability to exert 10 to 20 pounds of force to move objects
- Ability to occasionally exert up to 100 pounds of force
