Job Summary
Provide patient care under RN supervision for critically ill post-operative trauma, stroke, and medical overflow patients in a 16-bed intermediate ICU. Manage common therapies including lumbar drains, external ventricular drains, antidysrhythmic drips, vasopressors, and high-flow oxygen systems while maintaining patient rights and confidentiality. Coordinate care across departments and utilize the nursing process to ensure professional accountability. Requires current LPN licensure, BLS certification, and ability to lift up to 50 pounds. New or experienced LPNs eligible; consider for comparable education.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program
- Current LPN license within the hiring state
- Meeting all State Board of Nursing requirements
- Ability to stand and walk most of the time on duty
- Ability to perform significant bending and stooping
- Ability to lift and turn patients with assistance
- Ability to push, pull, and grip up to 50 pounds
- Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of the course within 30 days of hire
Desired Qualifications
- Comparable education experience
