Job Summary
Provide patient care under RN supervision in the 6D Neuro Trauma Intermediate PCU, managing high-acuity post-operative trauma, stroke, and medical overflow patients. Coordinate care across departments while maintaining patient rights and confidentiality. Manage common therapies including lumbar drains, external ventricular drains, vasoactive drips, and respiratory support systems. Maintain a current LPN license and Basic Life Support certification. Work a schedule with opportunities for cross-training within the Critical Care Cluster and a career path to transition into ICU units.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program
- Current LPN license within the hiring state
- Meeting all State Board of Nursing requirements
- Ability to stand and walk most of the time on duty
- Ability to perform significant bending and stooping
- Ability to lift and turn patients with assistance
- Ability to push/pull/grip up to 50 pounds
- Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire
Desired Qualifications
- Comparable education experience
- Successful licensure (outside of the specific current license requirement context)
- IV Certification
